As a QA Engineer, you’ll be the guardian of product quality across the full game development lifecycle. This role combines hands-on testing and guiding a small QA team, ensuring high standards through both individual contributions and team coordination.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and execute benchmark-quality test plans and cases. 
  • Perform thorough regression testing, ensuring all resolved bugs meet quality standards.
  • Reproduce and document user-reported problems with clear, actionable steps.
  • Keep a close eye on key quality metrics like ANRs and crashes, flagging issues early.
  • Analyze and resolve configuration issues that affect stability and performance.
  • Use database queries (SQL) to dive into databases, investigate and troubleshoot problems, and uncover root causes.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams and stakeholders to align testing with project goals.
  • Provide structured feedback on game design to improve overall user experience.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced QA teammates, fostering a collaborative, high-quality testing approaches.
  • Spot opportunities to improve QA workflows, tools, and team efficiency.
  • Identify potential risks and suggest mitigation strategies.
  • Help embed QA into every phase of development - advocating for quality, visibility, and impact.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills - you want to get to the root cause, not just fix symptoms
  • Excellent communication skills - you’re approachable, and know how to adapt your message depending on who you’re talking to
  • Experienced QA with a solid understanding of testing methodologies and QA best practices (ISTQB certification is a plus)
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new tools and evolving project needs
  • High sense of responsibility, reliability, and ownership
  • Interest in understanding how code works -  not necessarily to write it, but to grasp the logic behind it and better identify the root cause of issues
  • Comfortable working with JSON, XML, logs, and debugging tools to support environment setup, data manipulation, and root cause analysis
  • Passion for games or experience in the gaming industry

Bonus Points

  • SQL knowledge and ability to analyze databases
  • Experience with tools like Firebase Console, Google Play Console
  • Basic programming knowledge
  • Experience with mobile app stores
  • Experience in end-to-end product development and familiarity with different development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Kanban…)
